Sinus lift surgery, also known as sinus augmentation, is a dental procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of the molars and premolars to support dental implants.
The surgeon lifts the sinus membrane and places a bone graft between the jaw and the maxillary sinuses, which are located on either side of the nose. This is often necessary when there isn’t enough bone height due to tooth loss, bone resorption, or sinus expansion. The added bone helps create a stable foundation for implants and improves long-term success rates.
