A panoramic X-ray is a two-dimensional dental imaging technique that captures the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, jaws, sinuses, and surrounding structures.
It uses a small dose of ionizing radiation and is commonly used by dentists and oral surgeons to plan treatments such as braces, implants, extractions, and dentures. The machine rotates around the patient’s head, producing a broad view that helps detect issues not visible in standard X-rays, such as impacted teeth, jaw disorders, or bone abnormalities. The procedure is quick, non-invasive, and requires minimal preparation.
